Cellular Remorse

My mistakes started before I ever left Georgia. I planned all stages of my job transfer by looking into the very best moving companies. If only I had actually put in the time to upgrade my forwarding address at the exact same time, I would've conserved myself a great deal of aggravation. You'll understand why in just a moment. After I got all of my things boxed up and left Georgia for excellent, the relocation itself was easy. My movers dealt with all the information. All I had to do was get in my automobile and drive west. A pal made the drive with me, since he 'd never ever checked out California. We took turns behind the wheel. When I wasn't driving, I passed the time on my mobile phone, texting and binge-watching tv programs. Just later did I recognize the error I 'd made. I had not upgraded my cell phone contract to reflect my new home. Throughout the cross-country journey, I sustained hundreds of dollars in roaming fees for a bill that typically costs $75. Please do not inform my brand-new task how bad I am at mathematics.
Stuck in the '90s

There was another big problem once we got here at the brand-new location. I hadn't remembered to turn on the power at my new home. So, my buddy and I needed to lease a space at an extended stay hotel the first few nights until the power company showed up. Without power, I likewise had no chance to know that I 'd forgotten something else important. I hadn't hooked up my cable and Web services, either. Let me just say that going multiple days without Internet made me feel like I was caught in the early 1990s. I seemed like getting something pierced and after that enjoying a Nirvana performance. Even when I lastly had power at my house, I had no chance to browse the web without utilizing my cellular phone. This is a good time to remind you that I still didn't know my mobile phone service wasn't updated. I got hit with California roaming charges the whole time I was waiting on the mystical appearance of the cable man.
The Fuzz

Mentioning costs, I absolutely forgot to alter my forwarding address. That suggested that my charge card costs didn't get here. I got struck with late charges for it. I might have quickly prevented this error by registering for paperless service. That wasn't my only change-of-address error, either. I got pulled over by a California law enforcement officers. He explained that my license plate read more wasn't upgraded. Then, he explained that I had an out-of-state chauffeur's license and registration. All three of those files need updating when you change states of home. I had to pay a $175 ticket and then over $500 for the new licenses. Since I got a brand-new job doesn't imply I'm made of money, just. Why do the cops not know this? Once I lastly got sensible to the fact that I needed to update whatever, I also tried to update my vehicle insurance. Would you believe they wouldn't let me at very first?! I had to send them an entire tree's worth of documents in order to convince them I 'd moved. Then, they informed me that I 'd have to pay more for insurance in a greater threat state. Also, I 'd have to pay more till my cars and truck passed the California emissions test. Think what? It didn't! My beloved 1996 supremely American muscle car is too much of a gas guzzler to pass the environmentally-focused state emissions test. I'm going to have to pay more up until I purchase a new vehicle. What have I learned from my experience? Literally one hour of planning might have conserved me lots of time and countless dollars. All I had to do was update all my forwarding information, correct my billing information and cellular phone agreement, and inform my insurance provider about the changes. Then, another hour or so at the California Department of Motor Cars would've remedied all my license and registration concerns. Since I didn't do this, I needed to invest numerous days at a dive motel, got buffooned mercilessly by my friend, and lost a lot of cash I could've spent on brand-new furnishings for my brand-new home phone.
